I was reading what I wrote last here after my 30th birthday party...and it is exactly the same feeling I have now...! I am tired, but happy...happy cos I saw my friends enjoying the food and the party...That's pays back all the tiredness the stress of a whole day in the kitchen...I wish to sincerely thank Serena for the big help...Francesca for the cake, and everybody else for the drinks you brought and for the amazing present...!! You can't understand how much I like it...! My friends are the best ever...!!

My dad's first English Birthday was a success. And if it was so it is only thanks to all my friends that came along to celebrate him and have an evening with the three of us. The card he was given was a really sweet surprise, and I can tell he is already jealous of it. It will end up framed in his office, which is a kind of restricted area for the rest of the world unless business related. I was struck and very pleased as well to see most of the guys coming along. We had a drink in the Black Bear and then we went for a Pizza in a different pub. The original idea was to go out for dinner me and my parents, but since some of the guys were going to The Hill why not...? Improvisation brings along always great an unexpected results... And so we had a really nice night...and an unforgettable birthday for Pat...!

Tonight I am exhausted...really...but I am happy, and that's the only reason why I am writing...
The party has been really really nice...really really the way I wanted it to be...! I have worked all the day for it...preparing for over 20 people, but the satisfaction of seeing my friends happy for the food and the simple atmosphere was priceless...
I didn't feel the need to organize something big and complicated...but something rather simple and enjoyable...I didn't make to much of a plan...just wrote down some idea for the food on Friday and that's it...I think this reflects very well the way I am...which is curios...Is it always true? Can you tell what kind of person you are from the party you organize...? I guess so...
Nevertheless...I want to thank all the guys that turned up for having made the party nice...It's a shame that someone couldn't make it...for different reasons...but I am sure we will have other occasions to celebrate...Also thanks for the effort you made making cakes or bringing drinks...and from now on...if you fancy a cappuccino, just ring the bell... :)

Here we are...just turned 30...just left the 20s behind...ready for a new, definitely interesting decade...
To be honest I do not feel it to be a special birthday...one different from the others...
I remember many many things of last 10 years...but I cannot focus on a special one at the moment...Indeed I grown up a lot in these time...I left home almost 8 years ago by now...and from that point never came back to live there, if not for few days from time to time...therefore, willy-nilly, I had to start to think and behave in a different way...to do different things...to take a bit more of responsibility... It has been a slow constant learning process...still on its way of course...
Probably the biggest satisfaction has been the graduation...which anyway is not only a one day job...but the result of long years of lessons and books. It has been time for important decisions...above all moving to England...for good fun, and for unforgettable holidays...like the trip to the US with my granny, back in 2003...!!!
For the next thirty years the only thing I really wish is to look everything with the same interest (I'd say the same eyes, but I am not sure it makes sense) I had in this time...which is what makes the life interesting...regardless the age...regardless the place you are...
